Discover the energy of the land beneath you

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy,
frequency and vibration.”  ~ Nikola Tesla

pasture fenceYou know how you are drawn to be in a certain place—that it just makes you feel great to be there?

Other places seem to push you away. You feel off-center when you are there.

Why? It’s often about the energy of the land itself. And how that interacts with your energy.

Have you ever considered that every piece of land has a particular energy or feeling? As you move about, exploring new terrain, moving about your home, or spending time in a favorite place, do you notice the changing sensations in your body?

Have you looked for a new home and sensed how one place felt “right”, while others did not?

Just because it is a physically beautiful place, it may not feel “good” to you. Or be the right fit, supporting you in your energy matrix.

The Energy of the Land

Every piece of land has its own value. What has occurred on the land will influence the feeling that is transmitted. Contamination of the purity of a place can impact what you feel. The event creates a memory in that land, and it can be felt long after it ends.

Your feeling body receives non-verbal communication as sensory input. As your sensitivity to this input increases, you can then learn to decode what you receive. It can become your guide.

So if you want to understand your own life and how it connects with the world around you, become your own researcher. Be willing to ask questions and be willing to find answers.

Unseen Energies

This is not new information. Historically, ancient civilizations worked with these unseen energies in the selection of land for creating sacred shrines. Sacred geometry was used to build places of worship that aligned with energetic principles.

There are ancient cities, standing stones and sacred mountains. Think of Glastonbury Tor and Stonehenge in England, the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral in France, Angkor Wat in Cambodia or Chichén Itzá in Mexico.

There is a feeling that is unique and sacred, ancient and full of mystery.

An Energy Dance

Every living thing has its purpose and land is no exception. Like you, each place on earth has unseen dimensions that go beyond your understanding. The energy of the land interacts with your energetic body.

When you are aligned with the land you inhabit, you may receive something that is needed for your next stage of transformation.

Some locations will stretch you, introducing a new aspect of life. Others will nourish you. Sometimes you will feel uncomfortable or stirred up. Notice if this is something you need to work with and learn from, or if you need to remove yourself from the situation.

Did you ever imagine there could be so much to discover under your two feet?

What have you experienced as you move about the world? Is there a place that has been transformative for you? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Reflection

Take a breath. Release it. Take another. Devote some dedicated time of concentration/meditation. It doesn’t need to be hours of quiet, perhaps only 15 minutes. Then allow the question to simmer within you. Let responses bubble up into your awareness. Notice new ways of thinking, of images or ideas that arise spontaneously. Pay attention to your dreams. Let it happen. Be aware. See where it leads you next. Let yourself savor this process of receiving from yourself. Don’t judge whatever comes up, just receive it. Make notes.

You may want to share something from this process. Sharing is an important way to anchor an insight in your body. It leads you to deeper insight. It stimulates action.

  1. Great post. The wisdom traditions have always pointed to the land, the energy as our “source.”

You point out clearly here that we are made of the very stuff that binds us, connects us.

My latest novel to be released this summer, is about this very subject. My work is an artistic attempt at conveying this message: “The land and the people are one.”

Set in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Altai Mountains at the boarders of Russia, Mongolia, China, and the “stans”; the land literally is the umbilical of human culture as we know it today. I’ve been told, this connection of the people to the land can be felt easily there.

It is significant. Horses were originally domesticated there for the first time. There is a history of over 10,000 years of environmental conservancy by the locals.

This kind of awakening and awareness to these truths about life here on Earth are very important.

As a conversation of sustainability is a must. To remind ourselves of our true connection brings all of this to light.

It brings me hope that the center of gravity is shifting — not to return back to the past “simplicity” of a native life from the pre-trans past; but as a step forward to claim our true heritage while we advance ways for the coming billions to thrive in the world we’ve made.

    1. Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your comments. I love that you are giving voice to your message through the medium of fiction.
      Important work…
Let us know when it is published! Do you have a title yet?

  2. Thanks for this, Laurie. I have always paid attention to the land, and if it didn’t feel right, I landscape and garden until it does. I always leave at least one new tree behind, before I move on, and in my current abode I have created an entire acre of harmony! With the increase of overhead spraying of neurotoxins in the air, however, this work has become cumbersome, if not dangerous, and plants and trees don’t thrive any more either. I long for a place that feels like “home,” without the hard labor and the grief that the land’s sadness can bring. No doubt, the earth feels tortured now.

    1. Hi Lilo–Wonderful to have your perspective! I love the idea of you impacting the vibration of the land with your intentions and actions.

I have experienced some beautiful places that did not resonate with me and so did not feel like “home”. Then there have been others that were a completely unfamiliar culture where I felt deeply nurtured and at home. As I change, so too does the place I need to be.

  3. Love this blog post. Yes, I have experienced this. Each piece of land vibrates differently. I have felt carried, nourished, protected, energised, moved, restless, uneasy….all in different locations throughout my life.

    1. Lovely to hear your awareness of the land, Nadia. Noticing the different qualities brings so much to life. I know you have recently moved into a new home. I hope you are receiving exactly what you need for this time in your life!

  4. Shortly before leaving southern California for Massachusetts, I had the experience one day while driving to work of feeling my own self as a current of consciousness speeding along through the earth beneath the asphalt over which I travelled. I felt a strong connection to the trees that day in particular – as if they were speaking directly to me through the earth, and noticed many that I had on other days completely overlooked. As if they were telling me goodbye and say hi to our sisters and brothers in New England.

    1. What a wonderful sense of expansion you’ve described, Tara. Thanks for sharing it! Are you still in Massachusetts? Have you found it has offered something different than California, moving you in new ways?

  5. Hi Laurie, I so enjoyed your post. It’s wonderful when we take the time to truly walk in nature and observe all the sights, sounds, smells, etc. around us. I’ve found mindfulness walking meditations helpful to listen and feel what is around us. When we visit certain places where the energy is intense it is amazing to sense its intensity. The earth has so much to share with us, as do our bodies … if we listen :).

    1. “If we listen”… That is the key, isn’t it, Pamela? Sometimes you need to determine whether a particular location is “right” for you at that moment. Other times the intensity may be exactly what you need. It all starts with listening within.

      Thanks for your words!
      Laurie
