The subtlety of change requires you to pay close attention. As you grow in awareness, self-defeating patterns disappear. They are not needed; they are old patterns of being.
You may think they still exist because the ghost of the memory remains. You call on them to define who you are instead of reaching into what is new.
Old Patterns Hang On
When you change, your self-definition must also change. Often there is a lag, when your awareness has not caught up with your inner change. Sometimes you hold on to limiting patterns because you have always known them as part of your self-identity. You simply act as if they were still true.
As you grow, you need to be aware of patterns that have completed and no longer exist. letting them hang around clutters your own view of yourself.
Recognizing and acknowledging your change gives space to define yourself in new ways. Allowing the fluidity of that definition is key to being in sync with who you are today. When you give voice to those changes, recognizing what is taking place within you, there is a chemical action that takes place in the cells. A new paradigm is set into motion within you to explore.
An important part of our life experience is to share new awareness. What change within you do you need to give voice to in acknowledgement?
Time to Reflect…and to Share
Take a breath. Release it. Take another. Devote some dedicated time of concentration/meditation to what you just read. It doesn’t need to be hours of quiet, perhaps only 15 minutes. Then allow the question to simmer within you through the weekend. Let responses bubble up into your awareness. Notice new ways of thinking, of images or ideas that arise spontaneously. Pay attention to your dreams. Let it happen. Be aware. See where it leads you next. Let yourself savor this process of receiving from yourself. Don’t judge whatever comes up, just receive it. Make notes.
You are invited to share something from this process. Sharing is an important way to anchor an insight in your body. It leads you to deeper insight. It stimulates action. Feel free to use this arena to share what moves you.
